We recommend that everyone writes a contract when renting a residence. A rental contract must be written if one of the parties demands it.

This lease agreement, together with the Tenancy Act, regulates the rights and obligations of the tenant and the landlord in the tenancy relationship. No terms may be agreed or become effective which are less favorable for the tenant than what is stipulated in the Tenancy Act.

Sign the contract with Posten’s e-signature

If you wish to sign the contract digitally, this can be done with Posten’s e-signature service. The service allows both parties to sign the contract digitally, monitor the status throughout, and download a copy of the contract after signing. It is not possible to make changes to the contract after it has been sent for signing.

The service supports signing with electronic ID in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.
Each signature costs 20 NOK and is paid by the contract creator via Vipps or card.
